After securing harnesses, ropes and rappelling devices, Permian Basin Outing Club members take the plunge from an 80-foot cliff in the Davis Mountains.
Members camped, hiked and rappelled during the club’s fourth outing of the year last weekend at Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch. Expert Richard Galle was on hand to teach nervous newcomers the ropes.
Hikers found bugs, lizards, butterflies and even horses while traversing the Green Trail’s rocky riverbed. For more information about the outing club, visit sibleynaturecenter.org/pboc.
